  16. Though not the first ordination of an acknowledged homosexual
  17. as an Episcopal priest, the controversial action occurred only
  18. a month before the General Convention of the Episcopal Church
  19. is to reconsider a 1979 resolution opposing ordination of
  20. practicing homosexuals. When asked about Carl's ordination,
  21. President Bush, the nation's most famous Episcopalian, said,
